Record favorite TV shows using the PlayOn Roku app

PlayOn is a channel on your Roku device that lets you record movies and TV shows from other channels.
There are two types of PlayOn Roku plans, one that works with the desktop which is the PlayOn Desktop. But, the one which works on your Roku players is the PlayOn Cloud. 
To record shows on Roku, you need to download and sign in to your PlayOn account. The following brief steps will let you know how to install the PlayOn Roku app.

Using PlayOn Cloud on your Roku streaming device

  • After you connect the Roku streaming player to your TV with HDMI, establish a network connection.
  • Thereafter, access the Roku device's ‘Home’ screen after signing in to your Roku account.
  • When you select the ‘Streaming Channels’ option on the Roku’s Home screen, you’ll see a list of channels.
  • Either navigate using the Roku remote or search for the PlayOn app from the Roku search bar.
  • Once you see the PlayOn app, select it and allow it to install on to your Roku Home screen. Subsequently, select the app and sign in to your PlayOn account that you previously created.
  • If you do not have a PlayOn Roku account, then go to playon.tv website and avail a subscription.
  • When you log in to the PlayOn account on Roku, you’ll see a number of channel icons like ABC and Hulu.
  • Select the official channel icon before selecting the show you want to watch or record.
  • In this way, you can use the Digital Video Recording feature of the PlayOn app on your Roku device.
